There is no positive without the negative, there is no black without the white, there is no peace without a war, there is no happiness without the sadness. The symbol itself with its white and black colors represents this interrelation. In this tutorial I show you how to draw a yin yang mandala. I chose to make one side in black and white and the other side in colors. In the way I see the world, black and white represents the hard moments we endure in life, and the colored side represents the joy, happiness and positivity. ***** Materials Needed
Step 1: Draw the outline of the yin yang symbol a- Mark the center of the paper and trace a 10 cm radius circle. b- Trace the diameter of the circle, and from the center, mark a point 5 cm away, from each side as shown in the illustration below. c- From each of the 2 points you marked in step b, trace a 2 cm circle and a 5 cm circle. Kindly check the two illustrations below. d- Now using the fine drawing pen, retrace the outlines of the yin yang symbol as shown below. Step 2: Trace the mandala grid To trace the mandala grid on one side of the yin yang symbol, and from the point shown in the illustration below draw 10 different circles. But make sure to limit the circle by the outline of the yin yang. The circles have the following radii: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 cm. Step 3: Fill the yin yang symbol with patterns a- On the first row of the yin yang mandala, draw double diagonal lines. b- On the second row of the mandala, draw arc petals. |
